BENEFITS OF THE KISS X2 CLUTCH by TECH PULLEY
--Decreases heat exhaustion, vibration, and overall fuel and power consumption
--Easy to determine the rev for full release, half clutch and clutch-in timing.
--Better engine response with stronger grip force.
--No more deformed and blued clutch bell.
--Improves the acceleration performance and engine response when re-accelerating.
--Better steel quality, simple clutch structure, weightless body, easy to dis/assemble and adjustment clutch.
HOW TO TUNE THE KISS CLUTCH
Compared with the tradition, stock clutch, there are two types of springs installed in Tech Pulley's Kiss Clutch.
1) CS (Clutch Spring): determines the rev at which the clutch shoes fly out to touch the clutch bell. The strength of the Clutch Spring determine the rev at which the clutch weight is going to engage (i.e., initial clutch-in) with the clutch bell.
2) PS (Pillow Spring): determines the actuation timing of the push pin mechanism to get the fully engagement. The strength of the Pillow spring determine the actuation timing of the push pin mechanism to get the fully engagement.
Weak | Hard | |
Clutch spring | lower the initial engaged rpm | higher the initial engaged rpm |
Pillow spring | lower the fully engaged rpm | higher the fully engaged rpm |
HOW THE KISS CLUTCH WORKS
1) In the beginning the clutch weight is driven to rotate, but the initial rev is not high enough for the clutch weight to contact the bell.
2) When the rotate speed of the Kiss clutch is high enough, the clutch weight will centrifugally fly outward to touch the clutch bell to proceed the initial slippery clutch-in. (During the Initial Slippery Clutch-In Stage, the friction resistance is produced between the clutch wear pad and the inner surface of clutch bell, but the push pin is still unactuated.)
3) When the resistance force (from friction resistance, the weight of scooter and rider...etc.) is stronger than the strength of the Pillow Spring, the Pillow Spring will be deformed or extended to actuate the Push Pin to thrust the clutch shoe to grab the clutch bell very tightly.
